All are welcome in Rhythm, a choreographed dance class with a difference! In our Rhythm class, the focus is less about the moves and more about how you feel while doing them, and encouraging some lighthearted fun!
Classes are 45 minutes long including warm up and some gentle stretching to finish, and feature a variety of music and dance styles, including pop, latin, funk, dancehall and hip hop!
Classes are fun and informal and tailored to the participants on the day, so if you’re joining us for the first time, don’t worry, we’ll be breaking down the moves used in the routines. Having said that, sometimes we will launch right into a song and learn as we go along, just to keep things interesting. There’s no right or wrong way to dance in Rhythm!
Participants are invited to dance along to the routines, or freestyle with their own moves if they prefer. The routines are designed with all bodies in mind, so you can customise the intensity and energy depending how you feel on the day. Don’t feel like dancing that fast? Only want to do the legs without the arms, or vice versa? Want to sit that routine out? No problems! It’s your class to move in the ways that feel good to you.
No two classes will be exactly the same, with new songs cycled in with some of the older routines, providing a balance between trying new things and dancing to some familiar favourites.
